Tie settles top flight in Belleria Struthers 2-player

The 2026 Greatest Golfer adults season opened in style Saturday, May 16, as the annual Belleria Struthers 2-Player Best Ball Tournament brought a packed field to Links at Firestone Farms.

Flight 1 — the championship division — delivered the drama everyone expected, with the top teams separated by only a handful of strokes. Playing over a 6,400-yard layout, Ryan Sam and Rocco Turner emerged as co-champions after carding a stellar 66, combining aggressive shot-making with clutch putting throughout the round. Matching them at the top were Blake Prince and Joey Cilone, whose own 66 featured a steady mix of birdie opportunities and timely recoveries.

Just one shot back, 2025 champs Matthew May and Dave Kilgore secured third place with a polished 67, holding off a crowded pack in one of the deepest divisions of the tournament. Also finishing at 67 were Jason Dickey and Jessie Ritchie, along with Jimie Collins and Michael Thomas..

Playing just over 6,000 yards, Flight 2 showcased another tightly contested race, where consistency and teamwork ultimately made the difference. Mike Moore and Dave Morgan captured the division title with a strong round of 69, navigating the course with steady play and avoiding the costly mistakes that can derail a best-ball round.

Finishing just behind them were Bob Haseley and Richard Horvath, who also posted 69 and remained in contention throughout the afternoon. Third place belonged to brothers Billy Loomis and Charlie Loomis at 70.

Flight 3 produced the lowest score of the entire tournament, as William Heid and Hank Morris stole the spotlight with a brilliant 65 — aided primarily by Morris taking advantage of the 5,700-yard seniors layout.

Second place in Flight 3 ended in a tie at 71 between Eric Rapp and Sean Pregibon and the team of Lucian Clewell and Andrew Batchelor. Both teams delivered composed rounds and stayed within striking distance most of the day.

With birdies falling across the course and competition fierce in every division, the Belleria Struthers 2-Player Best Ball Tournament provided an ideal start to the 2026 Farmers National Bank Greatest Golfer campaign.
