2021 Farmers National Greatest Golfer sked announced

The 12th year of Farmers National Bank Greatest Golfer Youngstown schedule is announced. Like every year prior, we’ve tweaked the lineup. And well — we’re kinda giddy. Our big 2021 push is this: We want to host 400 players in 2021’s signature 54-hole Farmers Bank tourney Aug. 13-15. This goal begins the transition to making Greatest Golfer a destination event for regional golfers. The Valley is a great place to live, with great golf to show off. We would like to leverage our 11 years as a local event and draw players looking for a greatest place to visit and compete. Our “invite” component will continue with locals inviting friends from wherever, and having preferred tee times for that. But we will also have promotions with Cleveland and Pittsburgh partners to appeal to those crowds. Our first partnership is with NorthernOhio.Golf — the leading golf event website in northern Ohio. Here’s a look at what we’ve cooked up for 2021. • We are adding 3 standalone 1-day events starting May 15 at Links at Firestone Farms. We will have July and September events, too, at courses TBD. These will be 2-player best ball events. But maybe we’ll do a singles to open the season. A sponsor is needed. • We will restore the Men’s 16-19 Division and also install a Men’s 20+ division. • We are adding a second course to Friday and a second course to Saturday play. Welcome Reserve Run and Links at Firestone Farms to those slots. • We are toying with flipping our HBK/Golf HQ long drive/par 3 event — putting the Par 3 in the daylight and having the long drive at night under the lights. Stay tuned. — Our 2nd Caprice Health Care Greatest Day of Golf charity marathon will happen. — We have a new partnership with NorthernOhioGolf.com, and will enjoy some nice exposure throughout all northern Ohio for this thing we call Greatest Golfer.
