Here’s more about Joe and his golf love:
• What is your BEST golf tale that’s mostly true?
Playing with my brother at Redgate golf course, I got a hole-in-one on the second hole.
About 3 and half hours later, I go into the clubhouse and see two tables of older golfers. I didn’t know any of them.
I tell them “Beer is on me.”
One guy, says, “We know, we’ve been waiting for you slow poke.”
I was confused and explained I got an ace on No. 2.
The guy says, “We know, we heard you scream and we knew that was no birdie scream. And we like free beer.”
While sitting with those guys, I learned about tournament golf, joined their league and got a handicap.
I played many great rounds with them over the years and bought lots of pitchers and heard lots of great tales.
• What’s your WORST golf moment ever?
In my first tournament, with a brand new 30 handicap, I shot a 25 on a hole.
• My walk-up song to the tee box would be:
Orange Blossom Special, Johnny Cash, my favorite swing tempo song. Love Johnny!
• What’s going undone at home because you’re playing GLS?
Taking care of the cat that starts meowing at 5 a.m.
