Some new things about Greatest 2020
• A Sunday Restart
Applies to all divisions but the 4 Open divisions
All players playing Sunday have a shot at Greatest with our Sunday Restart format
Finalists, based on their 36-hole finish, will start Sunday at even, +1, or +2 based on their division size.
Leaders after Saturday’s 36th hole will be awarded $100 for winning the qualifier round.
Open Divisions will continue to play a 54-hole cumulative event. (No $100 Saturday prize for them.)
• It’s now “Greatest Invite”
We want to move into making the Greatest event a destination tournament.
In 2020, we start by allowing local players in Greatest to invite a friend from outside the Valley to play Greatest.
Addresses arriving from outside Mahoning, Trumbull, Columbiana, Lawrence and Mercer should include in the form who their host player is. Or email us along with the registration.
• $100 Par 3 shootout
On Friday’s and Sunday’s Par 3s, all are closest to the pin with $100 prizes offered to the closest shooter.
• Police your division
As always, Greatest is only as good as the players’ proper division alignment. Most players do a good job. Some players get a little aggressive.
The handicap number you are as of Aug. 1 is the number we expect you to play at. If you signed up in May at a lesser level and are now better, you must claim that new level. Moving you is not a problem.
We invite you to monitor your division, protect Greatest Golfer, and ask questions about player assignment. All divisions can be found here.
