Courses set for August championships; nearly $25K in prizes

Here’s the first look at our 2022 course lineup for the Farmers National Bank Greatest Golfer Championship.

We have our best set of prizes and gifts ever — almost $25,000 to the entire field.

This sked is our best projection based on previous years’ registrations. It is subject to change as circumstances require, and we apologize if that happens.

We have lots of details to share over the month. Watch your emails, and the website. You are real smart if you get on our newsletter.

Watch for frequent live chats this month on Instagram and maybe Facebook (if they cooperate). I will be live tonite at 8 pm (FB) and 9 pm (IG)

Some answers to your questions:
When is deadline? Divisions will sell out throughout July. You’re at your own risk. We have expanded capacity to 370 players to ease up the sellouts.

REGISTER HERE

Your fee includes: All golf, All carts, All lunches, Sunday beers around the final hole, bad ass gifts, pin prizes, and more.

What’s this Friday Squaw thing? As we get better at Greatest each year, our new path is to have a flip footprint — when we play some privates on Friday and play Mill on Saturday.

Historically, Saturday was when we showed you our privates. As we get more popular, this flip footprint was necessary. If our registrations do not warrant the flip, we will adjust to all at Mill and aim for minimum impact to rest of field.

There is NO MORE “Sunday Reset.” All divisions play 36-hole qualifier with a cut, and the top 25% of division advancing to The Lake Club.

• We will start seeking updated division placements and handicaps next week. Your level July 25 is the level you play at. If you signed up already, you are invited to jump to a more appropriate division reflecting your current skill level.

• There are always sandbagger chances. You are encouraged, invited, begged to police the event and your division and email me if you suspect a player is out of place.

More rules are here.

• What tees will I play from? This is a great question. Due to the variety of courses and colors and number systems, plan for this: All Women will play the course’s standard Ladies tees; All Seniors will play where the seniors normally play; All Men — except Open — will play standard Men’s tees; Open will play pro/toughest tees.

This is a general tee rule for the sake of your practice rounds, mental prep, yoga classes and deep counseling sessions. We will make slight adjustments if we deem the local decision is weird for whatever reason.

We also will be wise to pin placement. We try to balance a good test with logic that this is not your regular course and we don’t want to encourage 5-hour rounds.

We will share more. But this gets you going.

Watch for frequent live chats this month on Instagram and maybe Facebook if they cooperate. I will be live tonite at 8 pm and 9 pm.

Thanks,

Todd
