Hubbard’s Cooper signs on for GLS Greatest D.C. Oct. 17-18

Dave Cooper is a golfer to the bone. He coaches the Hubbard High School team and he has been a staple at more Greatest events than we can count. He just signed up for our inaugural event in Washington, DC on Oct. 17-18 — the GolfLeagueSite Greatest Golfer championship. Of his photo he submitted, he said: “Three of the guys in this photo, Ron Polinsky, left, Mark Standohar, second left, and Keith Schubert, right, have won Greatest Golfer titles in their respective flights and I have bested them on many occasions. Hopefully one of these days, I have a break-thru moment. The excitement for me is now I get another chance this year.” To him, it’s an event he put on his calendar early. Here are his thoughts: • Why tournament golf? I really like to challenge myself, and golf offers a challenge with every swing. In a tournament, that challenge carries a little more pressure. • Best golf moment? I’ve had four hole-in-ones • Worst golf moment? At last year’s Greatest Golfer tournament, I shot +3 for two days and failed to make Sunday at The Lake Club. • My walk-up song It could be any progressive rock from the late ‘60s thru the ‘70s. Who doesn’t like a little Led Zeppelin? • What chore will be undone while playing Greatest? I’ve been retired for four years, so there are no longer any vital chores that I would pass up a round of golf for.
