It’s aces galore at Mill Creek

Does the existence of fresh cart paths have a direct effect on scoring holes in one? Probably not — but we should study what they did with the new cart paths installed at Mill Creek Golf Course because aces are at near pandemic rate. On Thursday, YSU golfer Jenna Vivo (left in photo) nailed the 3rd ace in 11 days at the courses. Playing with teammates Tori Utrup, Kara Raines, Brittany Jonda (right in photo) and Christina Lewis, Vivo pulled out a 9-iron on No. 8 North. From 125 yards away, she bucketed her shot. On Sept. 3, John Pardee swung a 7-iron from 124 yards out to ace No. 13 on South. Witnessing this majestic arc were Jerry Brumert, Jim Visingardi and Bob Mollenkopf. The parade began with Bill Arnaut on Aug. 31. On No. 5 South, he stood 130 yards from his destiny. With Jim Lawrence, Bo Kana and Rich March watching in anticipation, Bill blazed a 9-iron into the hole.
