Tee times are announced for the Friday start of the 2021 Farmers National Bank Greatest Golfer at Mill Creek Golf Course.
There are 345 hardy souls taking part — 45 more than last year. The complete player roster can be found by clicking the WFMJ Greatest page here.
Play will continue Saturday at Tippecanoe, Youngstown, Avalon and Trumbull country clubs and Links at Firestone Farms Golf Club.
It all concludes Sunday at The Lake Club.
This is the 12th year of Greatest Golfer in Youngstown.
The golf action warms up Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Tippecanoe Country Club for the Morgan Stanley Long Drive/Par 3 Shootout. It’s the all-stars of local golf swinging away: Pluchinsky, Keller, Frank, McDowell, Rogner, D’Altorio and more.
This event is open to the public and weather permitting.
Friday begins the 54-hole Farmers National Bank Greatest Golfer when 345 golfers take The Sweeney First Swing at Mill Creek.
Of the 345 golfers, just 100 golfers will tee Sunday in the Make the Lake Championship presented by HBK, Kufleitner Automotive Group, Miller Lite and The Sports Grille at Cranberry — featuring the first player after-party.
“Miller Lite and Superior Beverage are excited about continuing its partnership with the Greatest Golfer. The Greatest party is a perfect event and we are proud to continue our sponsorship,” said Joe McHenry, Executive Vice President of Superior.
“The Sports Grille has deep roots in Youngstown, and community events like Greatest have always been important,” said Sean Pregibon, owner The Sports Grille
Greatest is unabashedly a scratch-and-dent event operation — not as loose as Caddyshack; not as rigid as Augusta.
