Wiesemann puts on driving show to snag last Greatest finals spot
The ‘Joe’ Dickey Electric Juniors series of Greatest Golfer finished up its 2020 summer series in dramatic style Tuesday.
Forty-eight players now head to the finals Friday and Saturday.
Top scores are below.
All scores are on WFMJ Greatest Golfer page.
In Boys u17, Aiden Wiesemann was only getting to the championships if he was the best today — and the senior from Western Reserve was just that. He shot a 74 — led by drives topping out at 350 yards – to earn the qualifier.
The top Boys u17 scorer on the day was – again – Mineral Ridge’s Jake Sylak. He shot a 72, but had already qualified, allowing Aiden to be top qualifier Tuesday.
That said, it was Sylak’s third win on the season, and the second year in a row when he was won three of the six summer qualifiers.
It’s a feat unmatched in Greatest Golfer. He is the returning u17 Greatest Golfer champ.
In Girls u17 play, Alyssa Rapp of Cardinal Mooney earned a finals bid.
Anthony Cesario won the Boys u14 qualifier, and in Girls u14, Luciana Masters earned a title spot with an 87.
